The Center for Law and Social Justice at Medgar Evers College hosted a Facebook Live on Immigrants of African Descent and the Census

The Center for Law and Social Justice hosted the Race & Law Report on Facebook Live and this week they focused on the 2020 Census and Immigrants of African Descent. Part 2 of the conversation will be “COVID while black in NYC.” They hope that that this week’s conversation will empower Black immigrants (and the community members who value them) to better:

  1. Understand how the census impacts them,
  2. Understand the nuances of racial categorizations on the census,
  3. Understand why they should increase their census participation rate, and
  4. Increase their willingness to speak to family and friends about submitting the 2020 census
