Census Update: The Population Association of America

The Census Bureau’s efforts to protect field staff forced them to temporarily suspend field operations and close local census offices. Further, the pandemic has compelled the Administration to send Congress an unprecedented request to push back the delivery of apportionment counts and redistricting data—from this December to almost mid2021. Such an extension would have numerous fiscal and operational consequences, and present new challenges for conducting an accurate 2020 Census and delivering timely, high quality decennial census data. See below for the slides and recording of an update from the Population Association of America.
