The Center for Law and Social Justice at Medgar Evers College hosted a Facebook Live on Immigrants of African Descent and the Census
The Center for Law and Social Justice hosted the Race & Law Report on Facebook Live and this week they focused on the 2020 Census and Immigrants of African Descent. Part 2 of the conversation will be “COVID while black in NYC.” They hope that that this week’s conversation will empower Black immigrants (and the community members who value them) to better:
- Understand how the census impacts them,
- Understand the nuances of racial categorizations on the census,
- Understand why they should increase their census participation rate, and
- Increase their willingness to speak to family and friends about submitting the 2020 census
